Lunch Meeting - Collaborating as Subcontractors & Suppliers

Apr 4, 2018

Member Price: $0.00
Non-Member Price: $0.00

Members of ASA know the value of joining forces to pursue common industry goals related to advocacy, networking and knowledge development. The next logical step involves subcontractors, suppliers and the entities that deliver specialty design services joining forces as integrated teams on projects. As the demand for smart built assets increases among owners use of collaborative procurement and delivery models succeed while hard bid approaches, steeped in the design, bid build procurement model fail. Further, in the current market, characterized by high demand for construction services and a tight labor market, ASA members enjoy more leverage than ever.

Winning a seat at the planning and design table and delivering real value from that seat will further strengthen ASA’s position relative to contingencies, prompt pay, safety, workers comp and a myriad of other pressing concerns articulated by ASA members and potential members.

ASA members that master the skills required to deliver services in accordance with lean construction principles under a collaborative delivery model will find themselves in a more powerful bargaining position from which to influence construction policy. Of course agreement will never be found on all issues and every coalition fractures over such issues from time to time. But collaborative delivery models offer subcontractors and suppliers a seat at the table early enough to make a real difference. And we need to train them to take advantage of that opportunity.

It is for the foregoing reasons I am so adamant about educating ASA members and others outside the owner / general contractor realm about the value of collaborative delivery models.

Please join us for our April 4th Lunch Meeting in at Hilton Naples.
